Biography

Sara Michael Jacobi, Native Texan, has been described as “vocally and visually stunning” (Arkansas Times).   Sara's operatic credits include Tosca, in Puccini’s Tosca, Suor Angelica in Suor Angelica, and Laetitia in Menotti’s Old Maid and the Thief. Noteable concert credits consist of singing Ruth in Dr. Isaac Van Groves Ruth, Corigilano’s Fern Hill, and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy. Jacobi was also a member of Fort Worth Opera Chorus for 3 years.

Awards’ and honors include a recent Audience Favorite Award at the Classical Singer Convention in Los Angeles, CA. Other awards include TEXOMA NATS - 1st place in 2009, Best Over-All Performer - Opera in the Ozarks in 2010, and Best Female Lead- Opera in the Ozarks in 2010. In 2009 Sara took 3rd place in a nationally televised competition, the Meistersinger, in Graz; Austria.  Jacobi was also a Berger Foundation Fellow. Educated at Texas State University, in San Marcos and St. Mary’s University of San Antonio, Jacobi was a staple at university performances and a selected Performer of the Year multiple times.

Upcoming engagements include concerts with Opera Singers Initiative in New York City. She will also be singing the role of Fiordiligi in Cosi fan Tutte with New York Lyric Opera Theatre this August.
